To assist a major private equity backed Retailer in the acquisition and integration of 140 retail sites within the UK. The acquirer had identified a growth area within the UK and intended to position itself to take advantage of the emerging market changes. Oakton was hired to provide Programme Management services covering deal support, operational and technology services. This included designing and delivering the transition blueprint including the retail operation, supporting operational infrastructure and all processes and systems to support the integrated business.
A separate division was established within the retailer to fast track the integration. Project team groups were established for all key operational areas and all activity was monitored to a detailed plan. The acquisition impacted 1500 staff moving into the new division.
The transition was highly successful concluded within the allocated timeframe with all sites operationally live on day one. The transition created a £1 billion pound retail business unit with excellent growth potential.
